Sharing is caring!
In today’s world, “I’m fine” has become the universal mask. We say it to hide stress, disappointment, and spiritual exhaustion. We post smiles, keep moving, and convince ourselves that busyness equals progress. But denial does not equl peace, it is postponement. And sometimes, the most dangerous place to live is in pretense. Healing begins where honesty replaces performance.
We’ve built a culture that glorifies strength but shames vulnerability.Yet God never asked us to be flawless – only faithful. When we suppress pain, we distance ourselves from the very Source who heals it. Admitting our cracks does not make us weak; it makes us reachable. It invites God’s light into the dark corners of our reality. God cannot heal what we hide.
“The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
Psalm 34:18 (NKJV)
Real strength is spiritual honesty. When we humbly bring our struggles to Him instead of burying them beneath “I’m fine,” revelation begins to replace repression and depression. Wholeness begins the moment we stop pretending we’re already whole.
Action Steps:
Prayer:
God, help me lay down the mask of “I’m fine.” Teach me that honesty opens the door to healing. Draw near to the places I have hidden or ignored, and breathe Your peace there. Give me courage to live truthfully before You and others, that Your strength may be perfected in my weakness. Amen.
Shalom!
