Sharing is caring!
Most of us grew up expecting every evil to be obvious — dark, foreign, and easy to refuse. The uncomfortable reality is that the enemy does not build what is new; his scope and strategy is to borrow what is familiar. He cannot originate life, love, worship, or purpose — those belong entirely to God. What he does instead is take the same divine systems God designed for our flourishing and quietly corrupt what feeds them at the source and along the course. The framework stays intact, the energy feels real, and the output looks good when only partially seen. But a corrupted input running through a real system will always produce a compromised result. The most dangerous deceptions are not the ones that feel wrong — they are the ones that feel almost right.
This is why counterfeits are hard to catch:
None of these announce themselves — they feel close enough to be convincing, and that closeness is the point. And here is something worth understanding clearly: the enemy has no independent authority in this world — none. He must work through human agreement, human surrender, and human sacrifice.. Deception is his strategy, but the good news is, what was surrendered can be reclaimed. Authority given over can be taken back, and every ground conceded through deception can be recovered through God’s redemptive plan.
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
— 1 John 3:8b (NKJV)
This means the battle is not first at the level of outcomes — it is at the level of inputs. God’s systems are not the problem — they are good, perfect and designed to carry life. This is where the gospel becomes intensely practical. Jesus did not come simply to forgive us and send us forward unchanged; He came to restore what was lost, reclaim what was surrendered, and reorder what had been corrupted at the root and in the heart of men. We do not start by fixing what is visible — but by choosing to change what we are feeding and believing — and in that choosing, we cauterise the corruption and clear the way for God to restore the full purity of what He designed, and all that He has purposed for us.
Action Steps:
Prayer:
Father, we acknowledge that the enemy holds no authority except what has been yielded by us. Open our eyes so we can see and help us choose to withdraw from every agreement we have made with what is false and faulty. Where corruption has entered our beliefs, our systems, or our structures, bring Your truth upstream and help us reorder everything that flows from it. Help us to take back the ground — in our lives, our families, and our organisations — and anchor it in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Shalom!
