Sin is a Big Deal but The Saviour is a Bigger Deal!

Sin, guilt, stains and shame are not words that we like very much, and for good reasons too. It was sin that separated mankind from God in the first place, and it is sin that keeps us short of the fullness of life and freedom today. Sin, by its nature, takes over and enslaves us. As the quote goes – sin takes us further than we want to go, keeps us longer than you want to stay, and costs us more than we can afford to pay. Sin is a big deal!

The laws of God that govern all of creation dictate that the consequence of sin is death. Sin is any violation of divine law and order. It is missing the Creator’s standard, mark or intent. All have sinned – me, you and we; so death was rightly the trajectory. Because of sin we also fall short of the glory of God, the very thing we need, seek and was made to breathe. Sin and death…what an ordeal! But through Jesus Christ there is Divine appeal, the only Blood that can heal, and the Spirit’s seal.

“Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?“
Romans 6:16 NKJV

God made a way for us – conforming to His laws, compensating for our flaws, and casting a blow in the Devil’s jaws. Christ took on our sin so that through Him we can still win and grin. It is time to get out of the grave. It is time to stop being sin’s slave. It is time to walk out of the cage. It is time to make the exchange to get back fully on God’s page.

Shalom!
