A door is a point of transition. It marks movement, choice and consequence. It separates what was from what can be. In the story of life itself, Jesus stands as both the first and the final Door. Through Him, creation and life came into being. Through Him, meaning, order and purpose entered the world. And through Him, there remains a way into the fullness of God’s kingdom and eternal life.
Scripture captures this reality clearly: “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:3 (NKJV). The phrase through Him speaks of passage, like life flowing through a doorway and continuing as a path to be walked. Humanity turned away from alignment with both the One through whom life came and the path of life that flows from Him. This misalignment led, and continues to lead, to separation, brokenness and death, as humanity becomes shaped by a nature that cannot restore itself.
Christmas reveals the kindness of God in response to a predicament many are not even aware of. God did not abandon humanity to the door we opened through misalignment. In Christ’s birth, life and finished work on the cross, He opened a way out of sin and death, and back to the Father. This is a door of reconciliation, redemption and restoration, inviting renewal from the inside out.

Prayer:
Father God, thank You for loving us enough to open a way back when we could not save ourselves. Thank You for Jesus, the Door to life, restoration and relationship with You. Help us to see clearly and to walk together into renewal and hope. Amen.

Shalom!
