Call me boring, but I get excited about new household appliances, improved processes and do-it-yourself healthy treats. When it came to the concept of being a new creation in Christ, that took some time to digest. Even now, I am still grasping the fullness of its meaning, but what a precious gift to those who confess and believe in Him.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
This is how I would explain the new creation miracle – upon receiving Jesus Christ as Lord, we are immediately made new in the realm of the spirit, and as we align with our new-spiritual-truth, we become continually new in the realm of the natural. Though it is in our human nature to look for overnight changes, this transition takes time and effort to manifest. We must choose to transition from who we were to who we are.
There is no renewing or emancipating without our involvement. From releasing our attachment to who we were, to choosing to believe we are new in Him, we must partner with the Spirit of God to restore our divine identity, authority and destiny.
I bless you to be conscious of the distinction between who you are being or who you were, and who you are in Christ. I bless you to choose new!
