Sharing is caring!
We’ve all been there – those moments when our character falters, and we wonder how to get back on track. Maybe we snapped when we should have paused, hurt someone, let emotions lead, or drifted from values we know are true. The good news? God is never surprised, and He is always ready to help us restore, renew, and rebuild. It is time to be real about the condition of our hearts and let God heal the hidden scars.
Our hearts are like gardens; what we plant, water, and protect will grow. When we guard our hearts and let God’s wisdom lead, our character and reputation begin to align with His truth. So how do we get back in sync with God’s design for who we are?
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”
Proverbs 4:23 NKJV
As we journey through rebuilding, we will encounter God’s grace, healing, and unshakable love. His way is not advanced by our perfection, but by our willingness – willingness to be pruned, purified, and prepared. And, when we let Him do the gardening, our relationships begin to flourish, our decisions become wiser, and our purpose comes into focus.
Action Items:
Character Check-in: Honestly reflect on where you are and where you want to grow and glow.
Prune the Negative: Identify thoughts, habits, and relationships that are holding you back and eroding your character.
Nurture the Positive: Spend time with God and in His Word, practice righteous self-care, and connect with people who water your spirit and watch over your soul.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that my character has not always reflected Yours. I confess my missteps and ask for Your forgiveness. Guide me as I reboot and grow in You. Help me tend my heart with Your wisdom and become more like Jesus each day. In His name, Amen.
Shalom!
